Ed Perez

Edward Perez has worked with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) South Central Region Office (SCRO) as a Water Resources, Engineer since 1989, upon graduating from California State University, Fresno, with his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

He’s worked as the State Floodplain Coordinator under FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for 22 years, where he provides technical assistance to the 85 communities and its local constituents that participate or reside in the SCR.

As a lead presenter Edward has presented numerous workshops related to the NFIP program throughout California and adjoining States. He’s has also developed and updated various training materials related to floodplain management i.e., FEMA Elevation Certificate, Development of a BFE in a Zone A SFHA, Substantial Improvement/Substantial Damage, Duties of the Local Administrator.

He has received the Tom Lee State Award for Excellence from ASFPM along with the Sustained Superior Accomplishment Award from DWR for his work in the NFIP program.
